2017 is here and soon follows a bunch of new music. To kick off January some of my favourite artists such as Ed Sheeran & Sundra Karma have released some new music, alongside some other fantastic artists.
Ed Sheeran started 2017 with a bang and released two long awaited new singles and announced a headlining UK tour. ‘Castle on the Hill’ and ‘Shape of You’ are the titles of the new releases by Ed, both tracks have the generic folk pop sound to them like previous tracks by Ed Sheeran. These songs were extremely hyped about before the release and as per usual, he failed to disappoint.
Towards the end of the year & throughout the start of January I had really been getting into Mac DeMarco’s music & to my delight just recently at the end of January he had released some exquisite tracks titled ‘This Old Dog’ and ‘My Old Man’. Which are both beautifully written and beautifully presented.
The XX released their 3rd album, ‘I See You’ earlier on in the month, around four years after their last album release so this record was really highly anticipated by both The XX fans and music lovers. As per usual the lyrics are impeccable and sound ever so beautiful.
At the very beginning of the month Sundara Karma kicked off their year with a bang releasing their debut album ‘Youth is Only Ever Fun in Retrospect’. It included some of their amazing singles which were previously released in 2016 which was a pleasure for indie music fans who had already enjoyed them beforehand.
Halsey shared her new release ‘Not Afraid Anymore’ which is set to feature on the new ‘Fifty Shades Darker’ soundtrack that comes out soon in the year. A new album from Halsey is a likely possibility & is said to be coming out later this year, so this new single could possibly give us an insite as to what is on the album.
That was just a few tracks to have come out in January, I will possibly do one of these for February.
